I’m not a fan of #FiftyShades.
I know. I know. I can hear the masses screaming at me in abject horror and utter disbelief. But, a lid for every pot, right?
So what the heck am I thinking by writing piece of fan fiction for a trilogy I haven’t so much as sniffed at? The challenge. And, perhaps, to gain a better perspective behind why Christian Grey has become the object of almost every woman’s fantasy. To quote famous restaurant critic, Giles Coren, “When you’re eating at a restaurant, always order the unusual or disgusting, because if the chef has any skills at all, he should be able to win you over and change your mind.” Now, I’m paraphrasing, but the sentiment applies here, as well.
I’d finished the first book, at least. So I had a decent foundation on which to build my scene. But, I didn’t want to touch on any threads from the current books on the market, so I’ve picked up after the trilogy closes.
****
Christian Grey is accustomed to always getting his way. A man with the world at his fingertips, there isn’t anything he can’t have. Or anyone he can’t conquer.
On the cusp of finalizing his divorce, he’s free to do as he pleases. And he has his eyes set on a prize too captivating to ignore. Her reluctance only adds to the intrigue. Christian Grey always gets his woman.
Laura McVeigh is no man’s doormat. And she isn’t accustomed to accepting failure. She’s a woman who’s fought and clawed to ascend the ranks in a field dominated by men. Making her a force to be reckoned with.
But in the world of commerce, money drives the bottom line and unfortunately she just doesn’t have enough of it.
A proposed merger with Grey Enterprises could solve all of her problems. All she has to do is…submit. Can Laura separate business from pleasure?
Does she even want to?
