Getting INSPIREd – Toronto’s International Book Fair ~ Part one

Tonight’s the night where writers, editors and book lovers alike are flocking to the heart of downtown Toronto for INSPIRE! Book fair, from November 13th to 16th, hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The INSPIRE! Toronto International Book Fair, hosting international, national, regional and local exhibitors, is a massive exposition of all things literary. A veritable oasis for book lovers and avid readers alike, covering the genre spectrum from Literary to Romance, Science Fiction to Mystery, Children’s Books to Cookbooks.

Weaving in exhibition, market place and cultural festival, INSPIRE! is a celebration of the written word in all its various forms and facets, and creates a place for reading enthusiasts to connect with those responsible (writers, publishers, etc.) for bringing the stories they love to life.

According to the website FAQ:

There are over 400 Canadian and international authors coming to INSPIRE! Highlights include Kelley Armstrong, Margaret Atwood, Sylvia Day, Jeff Kinney, Jon Klassen, Jim Gaffigan, Lisa Genova, William Gibson, Lev Grossman, Dav Pilkey, Kathy Reichs, Anne Rice and Meg Wolitzer.

Whether you’re there to meet writers, discover new literary gems or to attend one of the various workshops or keynote speeches, there’s something for anyone. The only mandate being you love books.

First on the docket is the Lift-off opening party, an evening full of live entertainment, cocktails and light refreshments. Tonight I will be attending along with the lovely ladies of my writing chapter: Toronto Romance Writers. This will be my first time attending and I couldn’t be more excited, so stay tuned for tomorrow’s post highlighting my experience with pictures and videos to follow!
